CBAM-ready supply from China and Asia

From 2026, EU importers of steel, aluminium and other CBAM goods carry a carbon cost on what they buy. Without real emissions data from the plant, you report on EU default values, which are often higher. We work with your suppliers to get actual plant data, check it and prepare it for an accredited verifier.

CBAM Steel and Aluminium Actual Emissions Data Supplier Checks Sourcing from Asia

Why It Matters Now

Buying steel and aluminium from Asia now comes with a carbon bill.

Price and lead time still matter. But EU buyers now also need emissions data they can defend. The data sits with the supplier. The cost lands on the importer.

Default values cost more

No plant data means reporting on EU default values. They include a mark-up and are often higher than the plant's real figure.

Data must pass verification

Actual emissions must be checked by an accredited verifier, and the first check includes a visit to the plant. A supplier spreadsheet on its own will not pass.

Other EU rules apply too

Steel safeguard measures, rules of origin and, for batteries, the EU Battery Regulation all depend on clean, consistent paperwork.

One data sheet is not enough

You need suppliers who deliver on time, report every year and can answer your verifier's questions, not just send a quote.

What We Do

Three ways we help

We start with CBAM, but the goal is a supply chain you can rely on: the right suppliers, the right data and fewer surprises at the border.

CBAM Data and Verification Prep

We collect plant data from your suppliers, calculate embedded emissions using the EU method, and prepare the monitoring plan and evidence your verifier will ask for.

  • Embedded emissions calculations
  • Monitoring plans
  • Evidence pack for the verifier

Supplier Checks

Before you commit volume, we check whether a supplier can really produce, deliver and report: who runs the plant, where the materials come from and how they handle EU requirements.

  • Production and delivery checks
  • Raw material and precursor tracing
  • Supplier scorecard

Sourcing Support for European Buyers

We find, compare and shortlist suppliers in China and Asia that can meet your specification, your delivery dates and your CBAM data needs.

  • Clear requirements
  • Supplier shortlist
  • Ongoing supplier management

Who We Work With

European importers, and the suppliers who serve them

We work on both sides of the deal. That is how we get data that holds up and supplier relationships that last.

For Suppliers in China and Asia

Become the supplier European buyers can say yes to.

  • Present your products, capacity and delivery record clearly
  • Calculate your CBAM emissions from actual plant data
  • Get ready for verifier questions and site visits
  • Give buyers a supplier profile they can assess quickly

For European Importers

Buy from Asia with fewer risks on data, delivery and compliance.

  • Turn your requirements into clear supplier criteria
  • Check suppliers before you place orders
  • Get actual emissions data instead of default values
  • Keep supplier data up to date, year after year

How We Work

One project, step by step

We usually start with one product and one supplier. You see results quickly, then we scale up.

For Suppliers

From the factory floor to EU-ready

1 Product and scope Confirm the product, its CN code, the target market and whether CBAM applies.
2 Capability check Review production, delivery record, certifications and experience with EU customers.
3 Materials mapping Trace raw materials and precursors, such as pig iron, crude steel or unwrought aluminium, back to their source.
4 Emissions data Collect plant data, calculate embedded emissions and draft the monitoring plan.
5 Supplier profile Pull it together into one clear profile, with risks noted and confidential data protected.
6 Yearly updates Update the data as rules, materials and customers change.

For Importers

From first search to long-term supply

1 Your requirements Agree the specification, volumes, delivery dates, CBAM data needs and how much risk you can accept.
2 Supplier search Find suppliers that can produce, deliver, share data and serve European customers.
3 Supply chain check See how well each supplier controls its materials, production, data and shipping.
4 Compliance review Review CBAM readiness, default value exposure, origin and whether the documents match.
5 Shortlist Receive a side-by-side shortlist with risks, reasons and next steps.
6 Ongoing management We track rule changes, supplier performance and data updates for you.
Lower CBAM Costs Report actual emissions instead of default values wherever the data supports it.
Fewer Surprises Know a supplier's strengths and gaps before you place the order.
Long-Term Supply Move from one-off quotes to suppliers you know and can manage over time.

What We Check

Four questions we answer before we vouch for a supplier

We do more than match buyers and sellers. On every project, we look at the same four things.

Who really runs the plant?

Does the supplier control the production, materials, data and shipping documents, or is it a trader in the middle?

Production Materials Data Owner Service

What does the buyer actually need?

We turn your specification, volumes, delivery terms and CBAM requirements into a checklist every supplier can be measured against.

Specification Compliance Delivery Risk Limits

Which evidence will hold up?

Measured plant data, supplier declarations, certificates and trade documents carry different weight. We tell you which ones will stand up with a verifier.

Measured Data Declarations Certificates Trade Documents

What will change?

CBAM rules, steel measures, origin requirements and supplier performance all move. We keep track so your data stays current.

About the Founder

Founded by a buyer, for buyers

CarbonBridge Global Ltd is a London company founded by Xiaohua Li. She spent about 20 years on the buying side of global manufacturing. She knows how procurement teams think, because she has been the buyer.

Xiaohua Li, Founder & Director

Xiaohua has worked in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, logistics programme management and cross-border operations for multinational manufacturers, including HP Inc., Jabil and NORDWEST Handel AG. She has lived and worked in Shanghai, Singapore and London.

CBAM lands on importers and their purchasing teams. Xiaohua speaks their language, and she speaks Mandarin with the suppliers. That is the bridge in CarbonBridge.

Track Record

Experience from the buying side.

  • CarbonBridge Global, UK (2026–present): Built a pre-verification framework that checks supplier emissions data for consistency and completeness, giving importers clearer CBAM exposure visibility
  • China Mobile International (UK), London (2025): Delivered 30+ ICT projects; resolved 50 design and technical issues on a £300K programme

Technical Partner

A front end in London, a technical team in China

CarbonBridge works in a strategic partnership with JingZhe Environment & Climate, an emissions and CBAM technical firm founded in 2020 and based in Yantai, China. The two companies are separate. You get Asian suppliers and EU-standard reporting through one partner.
